Each year, United Way of the Lowcountry works to ensure that as many of our neighbors as possible can gather around the table and share in this cherished tradition — but this year, the need is greater than ever.
With federal SNAP benefits paused due to the government shutdown, and several community partners who have traditionally provided holiday assistance unable to do so, we are seeing an even greater gap — and an even greater opportunity to step up together. Schools and local nonprofits are already reaching out, asking for help to make sure their families don’t go without a holiday meal.
